Our Story

Body Mind Heart Training® is the sister organisation of The Yoga Impact Charity.

Since 2015, The Yoga Impact Charity has provided 2,510 yoga programs worldwide with 26, 266 people healing from trauma.

Born of the desire to provide a more comprehensive suite of offerings, Body Mind Heart Training® was Co-Founded by The Yoga Impact Charity’s Danielle Begg.

Graduates from Body Mind Heart Training® 200 Hour Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training have a direct pathway to sharing trauma informed yoga in diverse communities through The Yoga Impact Charity trauma informed community yoga programs with 

  • refugees & asylum seekers

  • domestic violence survivors 

  • First Nations people 

  • first responders 

  • veterans 

  • people at risk of homelessness

  • other groups impacted by chronic stress and vicarious trauma

Methodology

The Body Mind Heart Training® methodology is based on the latest psychological research & The Yoga Impact Charity’s impact evaulations. Our trauma informed yoga was evaluated by the New South Wales Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture & Trauma Survivors and has been found to reduce Post Traumatic Stress with 9 classes, & reduce depression with 12 classes, in addition to a range of physical, psychological and social benefits. Meet Our Founder - Danielle Begg

Body Mind Heart Training® Founder, MSc, BPsyc(Hons), E-RYT

Danielle has an academic background in Psychology, Master of Science from Oxford University and Global Mental Health Post Graduate Certificate from Harvard Medical School. She marries this knowledge with her experience teaching evidence-based Trauma Informed Yoga as the Co-Founder & CEO of The Yoga Impact Charity. 

Danielle is the creator of The Body Mind Heart 200 Hour Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training, hosts Trauma Informed Yoga workshops and retreats globally, teaches Yoga programs in Sydney with people recovering from trauma and offers private consultation and mentoring. 

She is an advocate of the inclusion of yoga within healthcare and has been invited to speak at conferences around the world including: The Australasian Conference on Traumatic Stress, The International Journal of Yoga Therapy's Research Symposium, The Australasian Yoga Therapy Conference, The Yoga Australia Conference, The North American Refugee Health Conference and Australia New Zealand Refugee Trauma Conference. She has been published and featured in The International Journal of Yoga Therapy, The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC News, SBS, The Australian Yoga Journal, Yoga Today Magazine and WellBeing Magazine.
